Rescue Dogs Rock is an animal rescue that was started in 2011 by two women who share a love and passion for animals.  While our rescue may be new, we are not new to animal rescue work.  Together, we have over 19 years of experience rescuing animals.  We are passionate about helping animals in need through rescue work and public education related to animal welfare issues.  We work hard to find loving, responsible families for each of the animals we rescue.  Through animal rescue/placement, animal advocacy, and raising public awareness related to animal welfare issues, it is our hope that we may make a positive difference in the lives of animals. 

We are a Pennsylvania non-profit animal rescue based in Chester County, Pennsylvania.  We rescue primarily unwanted companion animals, focusing mainly on dogs and puppies of all ages and breeds.  Many of the animals we rescue come from crowded animal shelters where they were abandoned or found as strays, abusive/neglectful situations, and private surrenders by families.  All of our rescued animals are spayed or neutered prior to placement unless they are less than six months of age and/or cannot be spayed or neutered for health reasons.  In this case, we require that the animal be spayed or neutered once he/she is old enough and is determined by a veterinarian to be healthy enough to be spayed or neutered.  In addition, all of our animals are microchipped and receive all necessary vaccines/medical care prior to being adopted.  This care includes heartworm testing, fecal testing, and monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

In order to help ensure our animals are adopted by loving and responsible forever families, we only place animals in homes with individuals/families after the completion of our adoption process.  Our adoption process includes the completion and approval of an adoption application, veterinary and personal references, and a home visit.  We also require meet and greets between the animal and all members of the family, other dogs included, to help ensure a good match.  In addition, all applicants must complete/sign an adoption contract at the time of the adoption.

We are currently in the process of applying for federal non-profit status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
